Right fielder Richard Hidalgo smacked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Detroit
Iron Gloves topped the Chicago Rastafarians by a score of 12 to 8 at the
ballpark.
It was a good day for Detroit thanks to Hidalgo. He cleared the fences for a
two-run home run in the 4th inning and lost the ball over the fence for three
runs (his 10th of the season) in the 7th inning. Chicago scored in 5
different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.
Braden Looper(6-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Francisco Cordero(3-7) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was unable to
retire a batter giving up 3 hits and no walks.
